About Chuck Older

Colonel Charles Herman "Chuck" Older (1917–200older?) was one of the most accomplished fighter pilots of World War II and a member of the famed American Volunteer Group (AVG), better known throughout history as the Flying Tigers.

Flying the iconic Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, Older achieved multiple aerial victories while defending China against Japanese forces. The Flying Tigers became internationally famous for their shark-mouth painted fighters and their remarkable combat record during a critical period of the war.

Older ultimately became one of the leading aces of the AVG and earned numerous decorations for his combat service. Following World War II, he continued a distinguished career and later gained additional recognition in civilian life as a successful attorney and judge.

His service with the Flying Tigers places him among a select group of aviators whose exploits became legendary in military aviation history.
