About Bud Anderson & Bill Overstreet
Colonel Clarence E. "Bud" Anderson (1922-2024) was one of America's most respected fighter aces, credited with more than sixteen aerial victories while flying the famed P-51 Mustang "Old Crow." A member of the legendary 357th Fighter Group, Anderson became one of the most recognized Mustang pilots of World War II and later enjoyed a distinguished postwar career as a test pilot and Air Force officer.
Colonel William T. "Bill" Overstreet Jr. (1921-2013) also served with the celebrated 357th Fighter Group and became famous for one of the most remarkable pursuits of the war. While flying his P-51 Mustang, Overstreet chased and destroyed a German fighter beneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris during the liberation of France, creating one of the most memorable stories in fighter aviation history.
Together, Anderson and Overstreet represent two of the most respected pilots of the 357th Fighter Group, one of the highest-scoring fighter units of the European Theater.
