About Brian Shul

Brian Shul is a retired United States Air Force pilot, author, and aviation photographer best known for flying the legendary Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, the fastest air-breathing aircraft ever placed into operational service.

After surviving severe injuries during combat service in Vietnam, Shul overcame extraordinary odds to return to flying status and ultimately earned a position within the elite SR-71 program. As a Blackbird pilot, he flew some of the most advanced reconnaissance missions of the Cold War era aboard an aircraft capable of speeds exceeding Mach 3.

Following his military career, Shul became a celebrated aviation author and photographer, helping preserve the history and legacy of the SR-71 through bestselling books and presentations that remain popular among aviation enthusiasts worldwide.
