About Marcel Albert

Marcel Albert (1917-2010) was one of France's most accomplished fighter pilots and the highest-scoring French fighter ace of World War II, credited with 23 aerial victories. After joining the Free French Air Forces, Albert became a member of the legendary Normandie-Niemen Fighter Regiment, one of the most distinguished Allied aviation units of the war.

Flying combat missions against German forces on the Eastern Front, Albert earned widespread recognition for his skill and bravery. His extraordinary combat achievements resulted in numerous decorations, including the prestigious title of Hero of the Soviet Union, one of the highest honors awarded by the Soviet government. His service remains an important chapter in both French and Allied aviation history.
