About Gene Cernan

Eugene "Gene" Cernan (1934-2017) was a United States Navy aviator, test pilot, and NASA astronaut who became the last man to walk on the Moon. During the historic Apollo 17 mission in December 1972, Cernan commanded mankind's final lunar landing mission and became the last human to leave footprints on the lunar surface.

Prior to Apollo 17, Cernan flew aboard Gemini 9A and Apollo 10, helping pave the way for the first Moon landing. His unique place in history as the final Moonwalker has made him one of the most recognizable and collectible figures of the Apollo era.
