About David "Tex" Hill

Major General David Lee "Tex" Hill (1915-2007) was one of America's most accomplished military aviators and a legendary member of the Flying Tigers, the famed American Volunteer Group (AVG) that fought in China before the United States formally entered World War II.

Flying the iconic Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, Hill became one of the Flying Tigers' leading aces while defending China against Japanese air attacks. His combat success, leadership, and contributions to Allied air operations earned him widespread recognition among aviation historians and military collectors.

Following his service with the Flying Tigers, Hill continued his distinguished military career with the United States Army Air Forces and later the United States Air Force, eventually attaining the rank of Major General.
