About Charles H. MacDonald

Colonel Charles H. MacDonald (1922-1990) was one of the leading American fighter aces of World War II and one of the highest-scoring P-38 Lightning pilots of the Pacific Theater. Serving with the United States Army Air Forces, MacDonald achieved an impressive combat record while flying missions against Japanese forces throughout the Pacific campaign.

Credited with 27 aerial victories, MacDonald became one of America's most successful fighter pilots and earned recognition as one of the premier aces of the war. Flying the twin-engine Lockheed P-38 Lightning, he participated in critical operations that helped secure Allied air superiority across the Pacific.

Following the war, MacDonald continued his military career and remained an important figure in military aviation history. Today, Charles H.
